PC predicted will be replaced by a Tablet

Shipping or distribution flow computers, from desktops, laptops and netbooks, in Western Europe declined by 20 percent in recent years. This decrease is also due to declining interest in Western European societies against desktopatau laptop, which now prefer to use a tablet computer, such as the iPad.
Research firm Gartner said, in the second quarter of this year, PC shipments in Western Europe declined to 12.7 million units.
"In this quarter, the results show increasingly reduced consumer demand. This could indicate changes in market structure, which could be a threat (for PCs, laptops and netbooks) in the next few years," said Meike Escherich, an analyst with Gartner.
"People are addicted to tablets such as the iPad, but retailers are still conservative in placing it with the PC (in stores). Then, there are many who want a separate space for the tablets," said Escherich.
Apple became the only one of five retailers who experienced an increase in PC shipments in Western Europe in the past year. But, Apple is still a manufacturer of PC sales in Europe starting small.
Then, the data Gartner said that Acer's shipments declined by 44.6 percent year on year. Taiwan's manufacturing is indeed struggling with trying to enter the tablet and smartphone market.
Seeing this, another Gartner analyst, Isabelle Durand, said the drop suffered by the Acer more than expected. "PCs are no longer of interest to consumers, which currently require other alternative devices," said Durand.
"Most consumers prefer to maintain their existing PCs and buy another device. Although still considered important, but there is an irresistible presence technology, which could replace the PC," said Durand.
Meanwhile, the tablet computer currently has plans shipments of 150 million by 2015. This amount is based on data owned by the Institute for Research in New York, ABI Research.
These data also show, the tablet will be more bulk shipments this year, which reached 50 million worldwide. From this figure, 75 percent controlled by the iPad, in the second quarter of 2011. Meanwhile, 20 percent of other tablet is a tablet that uses Google's Android operating system.
